Quality management for barristers
BARMARK® is the Bar Council's scheme, equivalent to Lexcel for solicitors, designed to recognise good practice management within chambers. BARMARK indicates that chambers comply with the Bar Council's Practice Management Standards and Guidelines. It sets standards of best practice for administering chambers.
BARMARK is independently assessed by the British Standards Institution, with the final decision on awards being taken by the Bar Council's BARMARK panel.
As with all quality management standards we recommend BARMARK as a tool for managing quality and, consequently, risk.
